Customised Kawasaki Green Versys

Kawasaki has traditionally been associated with the colour green.

Often referred to as "green meanies" (especially the H2 750), the brand and the colour go hand in hand.

When I bought my Versys they had removed green as an option which IMHO was a mistake. Things got even worse for 2011 when they introduced what must be the blandest colour for a motorcycle…ever. Some kind of murky burgundy. At least I had the option of the fairly bonkers Pearl Solar Yellow.

I met the guy who owned this neat little number. Nothing radical – just a bit of cleaning up here and there and this very nice hand made seat cowl. As opposed to Simon Cowell. The hugger has been sprayed and the standard screen replaced with a multi adjustable thingy. He’d also done a very neat thing with the wheels courtesy of a can of Nitromors paint stripper. There was the black in the centre of the rim and the spokes but the outsides were polished alloy.

Kawasaki KH250

This is my kh250 three cylinder ,which I use when I cant face the rigours of riding the Gold Star.! I was given this as a seized non runner several years ago by a good friend who had no interest in repairing it.New pistons was all that was needed.
It is in completely original condition and un-restored.I was going to strip and paint etc,but decided against it as it has a nice patina of use.
Now quite rare,as these were nearly always heavily customised and scrapped.
A classic Japanese 2 stroke.Makes a terrific sound on full throttle,sort of howls.
